New Rescue Plan Provides Needed Dollars for Remote K-12 Learning

From big cities to small towns, Americans are facing a deep economic crisis. More than 9.5 million workers have lost their jobs in the wake of the pandemic, with 4 million out of work for half a year or longer.

The American Rescue Plan will change the course of the pandemic and deliver immediate and direct relief to families and workers impacted by the COVID-19, appropriating a  $7.2 billion Emergency Connectivity Fund to reimburse schools and libraries for internet access and connected devices.

This bill includes wi-fi hotspots, modems, routers, devices that combine a modem and router, connected devices, including SD WAN.

In addition to the Distance Learning, there may be opportunities in Cybersecurity Risk Mitigation and Technology Modernization including:
  • $650 million for cybersecurity risk mitigation at the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, which is leading the federal response to the SolarWinds Corp. breach of government networks.
  • $1 billion for the Technology Modernization Fund

KTS Networks & CBIZ can help you navigate this process to determine what you may be eligible for and lead the procurement, delivery and reimbursement at no cost to you. Be sure to act now. To qualify, you must order and receive the required technology by June 30, 2021.
